How can you make a difference?

This is a batch vacancy announcement for multiple upcoming People & Culture Assistant GS-5 level positions. The recommended candidates will be considered for fixed-term and temporary posts as needed, in sections such as People Administration – Onboarding, Benefits & Entitlements, Recruitment Administrative Services, as well as Payroll & Offboarding. They may also be placed in the talent group for direct appointments at later stage.

The People & Culture Assistant manages complex administrative and transactional tasks to the efficient implementation of a broad range of Human Resources (HR) functions for all categories of staff in the office, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UN, UNICEF HR and financial and recruitment rules and regulations.

Feladatok

Processing with Accuracy and Compliance: Ensure all HR, recruitment and payroll processes are administered accurately, in compliance with policies and procedures. Monitor and verify data to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, quality and confidentiality. Ensure data privacy and protection in all activities.
Timely Process Completion: Error free processing and financial integrity: Efficiently planning and prioritizing tasks based on the workload and timelines of case requests. This includes keeping abreast of Service Level Agreements (SLA) compliance each month and using daily monitoring reports/systems/dashboards to manage workload effectively. Adherence to procedures and policies, case management guidelines, timelines, and SOPs for maintaining compliance, consistency, and financial accuracy.
Knowledge Base Contribution: Contribute to the process of updating knowledge articles, FAQs, etc. In addition, contribute to the timely update of SOP, step-by-step guides and working documentation.
Continuous Improvement and Simplification: To ensure continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities to simplify, streamline and standardize the processes in the most effective manner. This in turn should help ensure processes and efficiency maximization.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination. For any business process and system related changes, participate in testing that ensures proper calculations.

Mit fogsz tanulni

The new colleague will gain hands-on experience in global HR operations within an international organization, covering areas such as onboarding, payroll, recruitment administration, offboarding, HR case management, and service delivery. They will strengthen their skills in stakeholder communication, process coordination, data accuracy, problem-solving, and working in a multicultural environment.

The role also provides exposure to enterprise HR systems, digital workflows, reporting tools, and shared service center operations, helping colleagues build strong operational and analytical capabilities that are highly transferable across the private and public sectors.

UNICEF supports continuous learning and professional growth through a wide range of internal and external training opportunities. Colleagues can access online learning platforms, technical HR trainings, soft skills development programs, language learning opportunities, leadership-related courses, and mandatory UN learning certifications. Spanish B2 knowledge is a strong advantage when supporting Spanish-speaking candidates, colleagues, and stakeholders globally, while also contributing to more effective and inclusive communication across regions.

UNICEF GSSC does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff. Applicants with non-EU citizenship must attach copies of their valid Hungarian residence and work permits, otherwise their applications will not be considered.
