Diversity across generations

We found great strength in generational diversity. Our younger employees, often joining straight from university, enrich the team with fresh methodologies, modern thinking, and up-to-date expertise. Senior colleagues, on the other hand, contribute with years of practical experience, client management skills, and proven strategies. In such collaboration, both sides learn: younger employees discover where their theoretical knowledge works best, while older colleagues gain new perspectives that keep them motivated and adaptable. Truly successful teams don’t think in terms of generations but in terms of strengths, and they deliver outstanding results together by combining them.

Diversity across generations

"Working as a "young" manager in my team has been an invaluable experience. When I first got this position, I felt like entering a party through the window. The initial fear of proving myself worthy was soon replaced by the thought that, despite age, everyone carries their own baggage—sometimes full of hidden treasures. As I like to say, attitude can change everything, and a "young" manager can bring a modern approach to work and life, turning the generational gap into an opportunity to grow together." - Francesco, IT Team Lead

Diversity across generations

For us, AI is not a dividing line between generations, but a shared learning opportunity. Younger colleagues confidently experiment with AI tools, quickly finding creative solutions. Senior colleagues bring caution and reflection, considering risks, ethical aspects, and long-term impacts. This balance ensures that AI adoption is not only fast, innovative, safe and responsible, in a truly value-creating way. Through this approach, technology turns into a shared learning platform where every generation contributes something meaningful. Moreover, any of our colleagues can join our dedicated AI Committee to help us finetune our existing AI applications, and develop new solutions to make our everyday work better.

Diversity across generations

Inclusivity and diversity are now essential values for any organization. For younger generations, openness and acceptance are often second nature – even an expectation. Senior colleagues grew up in a different context, yet with their life experience, empathy, and interpersonal skills they bring a valuable perspective that strengthens dialogue. The two approaches together enrich our workplace culture: younger teammates energize new initiatives, while older ones provide stability and nuanced viewpoints. For us, this is the path to creating a truly inclusive environment where everyone feels valued – regardless of age.

Diversity across generations

Generational differences should not be seen as obstacles but as strategic resources. Knowledge transfer is a two-way process: younger employees inspire with their digital skills, fresh ideas, and quick adaptability, while senior colleagues guide with their accumulated experience, stories, and long-term vision. This reciprocity not only enables more effective work but also builds trust and cohesion within the team. When organizations consciously support cross-generational learning, the outcome is innovative ideas, creative projects, and stronger communities. When every generation’s strengths are recognized and shared goals align, we create stronger teams and a workplace where learning never stops.

Appreciating each other!

Diversity for us have several manifestations. From our support for the LMBTQ+ employees through GALE, our other diversity groups such as Linked and Women@Work help the integration of our young colleagues, and ladies in different positions. The Mom’s Club is committed to connecting women on maternity leave and already working. For us, everybody is equal. We are especially proud that our colleagues represent different age groups, thus connecting the silver generation with our youngest interns.

Appreciating each other!

We believe that personal and professional life cannot be that much separated, this is why we pay special attention to mental, physical and emotional health and well-being. From regular office yoga, meditation and acupressure sessions, we have weekly fruit days, ice cream days during the summer, sound baths, different trainings such as emotional resilience, and we just launched a campaign called ’Powerful Sentences’ focusing on mindfulness, to help our colleagues become their very best version.

Appreciating each other!

Well-being doesn't apply just for us. This is why we regularly organize programs to help those in need, such as Charity Cookie Fairs, make sandwiches for homeless people with Menhely Foundation, help out with repairing tasks at the Anikó Pet Rescue Foundation, and collect cleaning detergents and clothes hand in hand with the Kompánia Foundation. Our colleagues often help with translating messages to the SOS Children's Villages, enabling children's words get to people around the world.

Appreciating each other!

Your Lexmark journey starts at the interview. We are proud that as per our applicants’ feedback, their interview experience was outstanding, regardless if they’ve been hired or not. Throughout their onboarding, a buddy helps every step of our newcomers. Our Lexmarkers always grow and develop. Our learning approach is 70% experiential, 20% peer learning, and 10% formal education, this is visible in our Skill-based Volunteering Program, our online course database, or in the free language courses.

Appreciating each other!

Lexmark is more than just a company – we’re a family committed to making a positive impact on people's lives. Our dedication to sustainability and inclusivity has earned us meaningful recognitions, from being named a Great Place to Work to the Safe & Sound Week certification. We're also proud to be the Most Diverse Company of the Year 2023 by HBLF, and one of Hungary's Responsible Employers. These honors reflect our passion for creating a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone.
