About the company
Our story
- 2014We started experimenting with the first prototype of Shapr3D. It had a touch-only interface.
- 2015Our CEO dreamed big: the most intuitive 3D modeling app running on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.
- 2016-03Shapr3D got launched with the Apple Keynote, and we spent the rest of the year fine-tuning features.
- 2017Shapr3D moved to Siemens™ Parasolid™ leading CAD engine, which meant rewriting the app from scratch.
- 2018We introduced the second Parasolid-based app version and welcomed our first investors.
- 2019We raised $6M backed by Point9 Capital (Revolut, ZenDesk) and Creandum (Spotify).
- 2020We won an Apple Design Award and released new features. Our team kept growing steadily.
- 2021We hit the ground running with launching the 2D Drawings feature and bringing Shapr3D to macOS.

Winner of the Apple Design Award 2020, Shapr3D is an innovative 3D modeling tool for designers, engineers, product managers, manufacturers, and other design professionals. It delivers an outstanding modeling experience – something that legacy CAD (computer aided design program) has not been able to do for decades.

We maintain active Slack channels for ideas about the product, company and office life. We also have regular office hours with the CEO and weekly All-hands meeting where we discuss current topics.
Why we love our office
The office interior was inspired by the Shapr3D app so the look & feel very much reflects our product. Everyone has their favorite spot -- but it’s safe to say that the view onto downtown Budapest, the stocked snack pantry, and the board games are crowd favorites.
