- 2010-01We were founded with the vision of making international money transfers cheap, fair, and simple.
- 2016-01Over 1M happy customers trust us to move more than $1 billion dollars of their money, every month.
- 2018-10Borderless account launched, allowing customers to hold their money in more than 50 currencies.
- 2021-02We changed our name from "TransferWise" to "Wise" and also celebrated our 10th birthday.

At Wise, ideas emerge from collective brainpower. People are organised in autonomous teams within which we talk through projects, but we use Slack, email, and Google surveys for opinions!
Why we love our office
The Budapest Office has just moved to the busy 13th district close to the Danube. It’s a city of stunning architecture and unrivalled hospitality, and now it’s the newest home to our customer support and engineering teams. Our office is spacious and light aligning with our core value, transparency. We like to show our attitude, too - the new wall decoration says THIS IS A REVOLUTION!
